My thoughts
This is for the die-hard Marriott fans. The annual fee is steep, but Platinum Elite status, an annual free night certificate worth up to 85,000 points, lounge access, and the dining credits go a long way toward making it worth it. If you stay at Marriott regularly and want premium benefits, this is your card.
How to use your points
Marriott Bonvoy points are best used for free nights at premium Marriott properties. Here are some of the best ways to use them:
- Book free nights at luxury properties like Ritz-Carlton, W Hotels, and St. Regis
- Use annual free night certificates at participating hotels — learn how to use Marriott free night certificates
- Use Points + Cash awards to stretch your points further
The premium Marriott card for those who are truly loyal to the brand.
- Platinum Elite status is a meaningful upgrade for frequent Marriott guests
- The annual free night certificate (up to 85,000 points) is genuinely valuable
- The $300 in dining credits helps offset the $650 fee
- Worth the high annual fee if Marriott is your primary hotel loyalty program
