My thoughts
This is a great option for those who don't want the card counting toward their 5/24 number. The annual fee is the lowest of the Marriott lineup and the welcome offer is unique — you get up to 5 free night certificates instead of points, which can be incredibly valuable for hotel stays. It's a great first-year card!
How to use your points
The welcome offer on this card gives you free night certificates rather than points — which is actually a great deal! Here are some of the best ways to use your Marriott rewards:
- Use free night certificates at Marriott properties up to 35,000 points — learn how to use Marriott free night certificates
- Book free nights at Marriott properties around the world
- Use Points + Cash awards to stretch your points further
The lowest annual fee in the Marriott lineup with a uniquely valuable welcome offer.
- Up to 5 free night certificates in the welcome offer — that's a lot of hotel nights!
- Doesn't count against Chase's 5/24 rule
- Lowest annual fee of all the Marriott cards at $125
- Not many long-term benefits, but a fantastic first-year card
