My thoughts
This is a card that truly pays for itself, but only if you actually use the credits. The welcome offer alone is massive, and the business-focused credits like Indeed, Adobe, and Dell can add up to thousands of dollars in value for the right person. If you regularly stay at luxury hotels and want lounge access, you can absolutely justify the fee, especially for the first year.
How to use your points
Membership Rewards® points are best used by transferring to travel partners. Here are some of the best ways to use them:
- Transfer to any of Amex's 21 airline and hotel partners — see all Amex partners
- Transfer to Flying Blue - Air France/KLM for flights to Europe — learn about Flying Blue
- Transfer to Hilton at a 1:2 ratio
- Book through Amex Travel portal for flights, hotels, and more
The highest welcome offer we've ever seen on this card! It's definitely worth it if you use the perks.
- As high as 300,000 point welcome offer is massive and makes it worth opening, especially for the first year
- The many credits (Indeed, Adobe, hotel) can offset a huge chunk of the annual fee
- Lounge access and premium travel perks make this a great fit for frequent travelers
- If you won't use the credits, the Business Gold is a smarter choice
