My thoughts
This is an excellent card for anyone just getting into points and miles. The welcome offer is worth at least $1,000 in travel when you factor in the $250 travel credit, and the flat 2x on everything means you never have to think about which card to use for what. Start with this card before the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card. They have to be opened in order if you want to be eligible for both bonuses. This is also a great card to diversify your points beyond Chase or Amex.
How to use your points
Capital One miles can be used in a few different ways. Transferring to partners gives you the most value, but there are other great options too. Here are some of the best ways to use them:
- Transfer to 15+ airline and hotel partners — Capital One Transfer Partners
- Use to cover travel purchases on your statement at 1 cent per point
- Cover rental cars, cruises & Disney tickets through Undercover Tourist — how I book Disney on points
A simple, flexible card worth at least $1,000 in travel right now.
- The $250 travel credit in the welcome offer is basically free money
- Flat 2x on everything means zero thinking about categories
- Great card for diversifying beyond Chase or Amex points
- Open this one BEFORE the Venture X — Capital One has family language rules
