Using All of Your Little Credit Card Credits

Last month, I flew to Phoenix to visit my business partner, Aimee (@packedwithpoints), and we spent an afternoon driving around using up as many random credit card credits as we could think of. We each have quite a few credit cards, and we do our best to use up all the little perks and credits so we get the most out of our annual fees.

I thought it would be helpful to share our adventures with you! So, let’s go over all of the credit card credits we used. I also have a list for you to check to ensure you’re not missing any credits on other cards you have in your wallet.

Credit Card Credits We Used

Here are the cards and credits we used on our little adventure.

American Express® Gold Card

Credit: Up to a total of $10 in statement credits monthly when you pay with your Amex Gold Card at Grubhub, The Cheesecake Factory, Goldbelly, Wine.com, and Five Guys.

I used this credit to purchase a bundlet from Nothing Bundt Cakes through GrubHub.

Credit: Up to $7 in monthly statement credits after you enroll and pay with the Amex Gold Card at U.S. Dunkin’ locations.

I used my card to load $7 into my Dunkin’ app and trigger my Dunkin’ credit. I do this every month, and then use my app to pay for donuts or coffee whenever we’re near a Dunkin’ location.

American Express® Business Gold Card

Credit: Up to $20 in statement credits each month after you use the Business Gold Card for eligible U.S. purchases at FedEx, Grubhub, and Office Supply Stores.

We both purchased $20 of items at Staples, then got the Flexible Business Credit credited to our accounts.

Hilton Honors American Express Surpass® Card

Credit: Up to $50 in statement credits each quarter for purchases made directly with a property in the Hilton portfolio.

Aimee has this card, and I have The Business Platinum Card® from American Express, and both cards come with this credit. Since neither of us had any Hilton stays this quarter, we had to get creative! We stopped by a local Hilton and purchased $50 worth of snacks from their snack shop in the front lobby.

Other cards with Hilton quarterly credits:

  • The Hilton Honors American Express Business Card – $60
  • The Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card – $50

Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card

We each used our $10 monthly DoorDash credit and ordered items for pickup to save on delivery fees. Aimee picked hers up at her local DashMart, and I picked mine up at 7-11. This credit can be used for non-restaurant orders, and it comes off during the checkout process like a coupon.

Other Cards with Credits

We focused on the small, snacky credits for our day. Those are the ones that can easily get forgotten, but can be worth hundreds of dollars over the course of a year. But, there are other credit cards worth mentioning, each with its own set of valuable credits.

Here’s a list with links to more info about cards with multiple credits:

Wrapping Up

To be completely honest, I do not always use all of these credits. It can be a lot to keep track of, and with four busy kids, it’s not at the top of my priority list.

Thankfully, I have CardPointers to help me. It keeps track of the credits for the cards I have, sends me reminders when they’re expiring, and lets me see which ones I’ve used. Just a little bit of extra effort helps me get the most out of my cards.

Bonus: my kids love getting little free treats each month!

Thank you for using our card links when applying for new cards. It helps us run our small business at no extra cost to you. We appreciate your support!
