This is a decent no-fee option if you fly Delta regularly and want to earn miles without paying an annual fee. The welcome offer is smaller compared to the other Delta cards, so I'd mainly recommend it as a long-term keeper for the 20% in-flight savings rather than opening it primarily for the welcome offer.

Delta SkyMiles are best used for flights on Delta and its partners. Here are some of the best ways to use them:

  • Book Delta flights directly on delta.com using miles
  • Book partner flights on Air France, KLM, Virgin Atlantic, and more
  • Upgrade to first class or Comfort+ on Delta flights
  • Use Pay with Miles to offset the cost of any Delta ticket
  • American Express points transfer to Delta if you need to top off — Learn more about Amex Membership Rewards®

A no-fee card worth keeping long-term if you fly Delta.

  • No annual fee, so zero risk and no reason not to keep it open
  • Welcome offer is small compared to the other Delta cards
  • Best used as a long-term keeper for the 20% in-flight savings perk
  • If you want checked bag perks or a bigger welcome offer, look at the Delta SkyMiles® Gold American Express Card instead
