My thoughts
This is a great beginner card and a long-term keeper. It earns cash back on its own, but the real magic happens when you pair it with a Chase Sapphire Preferred — suddenly those points become transferable to airlines and hotels. No annual fee means there's no reason not to keep it open forever, and the welcome offer spending requirement is one of the lowest you'll ever see.
How to use your points
On its own this card earns cash back. But pair it with a Sapphire Preferred and the points get SO much more valuable. Here are some of the best ways to use them:
- Move points to a Sapphire Preferred to unlock transfer partners — learn how to combine points
- Transfer to World of Hyatt for hotel stays — All About Hyatt
- Redeem as cash back as a statement credit
- Book through Chase Travel for flights, hotels, and rental cars
A great starter card that keeps earning for you long after year one.
- No annual fee means zero risk — great first card to open
- One of the lowest welcome offer spending requirements out there ($500!)
- On its own it's cash back, but paired with a Sapphire Preferred it becomes so much more
- A long-term keeper — keep it open forever and let the points stack up
